Progressive years experience from Analyst/Programmer to Senior Project Leader (Bank Officer level) to Principal Consultant and Company President. years experience with both Canadian and International financial institutions. years experience working with the FIS Profile family of systems and its development tool DATA-QWIK to become one of the longest experienced consultants in the Profile field. During this time developed excellent management and user respect by consistently delivering high quality, reliable work. Designed, and assisted in implementing and testing, the Bank of Bermuda's Real Time Foreign Exchange System, which won FIS (Sanchez Associates') 2002 innovation award. Received two Digital Equipment of Canada awards for Consulting Team Excellence, and Canadian Service Distinction. Also received the Bank of Bermuda President’s Award for personal achievement - one of 15 recipients out of a total of 268 Officers.

As part of a number of implementation, conversion and customisation projects: experienced in FIS Profile setup, including database configuration, and System deposit and lending product setup, user access, and restrictions. Worked on customisation for deposit and lending products, and also for interfaces and batch processing. Using PSL, FIS Profile/SQL and M, written code for screens, reports, procedure and executive definitions, based on a development process using strict policies and procedures to ensure integrity of core system.

As Principal Consultant / President:

Operating small consulting company, providing assistance to customers worldwide to review business requirements, re-engineer their processes, customise, develop and implement the Profile system, and providing training and support.

  • For Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Surrey from June 2006, providing consulting services.
  • For Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Surrey January 2006 provided M and DATA-QWIK training to staff. In September 2005, wrote a confidential data scrambler process. In January 2005, responsible for lead position in the correction of a major out-of-balance situation. In May 2005, provided training on System Balancing for users and support/programming staff.
  • For The Bank of Bermuda Ltd, Hamilton, Bermuda October 2005 provided a solution for the Foreign Exchange sub-system for the Bank's new accounting interface package.
  • For Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Surrey from June 2003 to May 2004, responsible for writing the importation process for the conversion of data from a UNIX based system to FIS Profile. In addition, providing training and management consulting for future development of FIS Profile.
  • For The Bank of Bermuda Ltd, Hamilton, Bermuda from March 2000 to August 2002, enhanced the Foreign Exchange sub-system. From August 2002 to May 2003, further enhancing this System to allow real-time cross-currency exchange deals and simplified screen data entry.
  • For Celero Solutions (Credit Union Central of Manitoba), Winnipeg, MB from February 1995 to January 1999, acted for the client as FIS Profile Technical Advisor for customisation and day-to-day operations. Developed systems to allow merging of FIS Profile databases. Created software to clean up duplicate CIFs. Developed an on-line interface for loans origination (to create CIFs, memberships and loans). Customised Account History Archiving. Developed a Harte-Hanks extract to extract additional information and statistics - this is used by other outside companies. Successfully implemented Passbook Printing. Provided detailed M and FIS Profile training. For over two years was secondary support responsible for fixing day-to-day problems, mostly loan integrity problems, and provided 24 hour support acting as FIS Profile System Architect.
  • For Amex Canada Inc, Toronto June 2001 performed risk assessments and reviews on upgrade capabilities. October 2001 assisted with the creation of new lending products.
  • For Steinbach Credit Union, Manitoba November 1999 created an automatic process which successfully adjusted a product’s attributes on January 1, 2000.
  • For La Caisse Populaire de La Salle, Manitoba November 1999 performed a high level analysis for their possible migration to FIS Profile.
  • For Datawest Solutions, Vancouver from July to October 1999 developed a conversion process using PSL and M to import data into FIS Profile. Also migrated the Service Bureau environment FIS Profile section from version 4.4 to 6.1, and assisted with the installation and testing of multiple sites running FIS Profile for Windows. Has an excellent understanding of FIS Profile’s Service Bureau operations.
  • For ING Direct Canada, Toronto from January 1998 to March 1999, acted for the client as FIS Profile Technical Advisor for customisation and day-to-day operations. Produced new table-driven Statements and improved their production, decreasing running time by two-thirds. Also created a routine to scramble sensitive data (with a run time of four hours compared to the customer’s original program of 30 days). Created a confidential PIN transfer from an Oracle database to FIS Profile. Created functionality to extract and load information for automatic credit reviews based on newly created CIFs. Fixed many integrity errors in the production database, and provided 24 hour support.
  • For Lutheran Church Extension Fund Missouri Synod, St Louis from May to July 1998 upgraded custom reports to FIS Profile 5.3 and assisted in cheque printing implementation.
  • For Citibank Canada, Toronto from January to July 1998 developed Statements.
  • Managed and supervised projects for other customers.
  • Conceived of software to Advance System Dates for Y2K Testing, which was developed by PMA and successfully implemented into four customer sites.

As Retail Banking Systems Consultant:

Provided consulting services to three clients implementing FIS Profile in a single institution and two service bureaus. The services included providing advice on all aspects of the projects regarding implementation, design, development, training and operations issues. In addition, performing a lead role as development team leader at one of the client sites.

As Consultant:

Responsible for the design/analysis phase of the customisation of Retail Banking systems for the Guernsey office. Developed automatic Menu, and Foreign Cheque Deferral systems, and a Customers’ Indebtedness Position Summary. Improved the running performance of the end-of-day suite - from one hour to three minutes. Performed quality assurance reviews on development/support projects.

After the implementation of FIS Profile, headed a team responsible for the further development of FIS Profile, including the development and implementation of a Problem Tracking and Software Control system. Coordinated the conversion and implementation of FIS Profile. Headed a team responsible for FIS Profile development, and coordinated the testing of in-house and vendor development.
